If you are heading out on safari or planning a trip to a zoo, the prospect of your eyes startling upon previously unseen creatures is fairly high. If you are not, it becomes a bit chancy. Seeing five such creatures in the wild becomes a matter of location and good fortune.
So, although I knew I would be travelling to some new natural places in Australia and New Zealand it was by no means certain that I would achieve this one.
Fortunately nature obliged and I was variously charmed and enthralled by :
- Tamar wallabies (Kangaroo Island)
- rock wallabies (near Exmouth)
- sea lions (KI)
- New Zealand fur seals (KI)
- wedged tail eagle (WA)
